Planning for next year

There's quite a ways to go before next Halloween but I've decided --and have started working-- on what my theme for next year's Halloween will be: candlelight. I have a ton of battery-operated tea lights that I bought awhile back and I might as well utilize them. So far, it's been coming together pretty well..

I made the candelabra and candle pillars awhile back....

 

 

Those painted (orange) votives are a new addition. Just a combination of food coloring with mod podge. We'll see how many I'll be able to incorporate into my haunt. They're quickly taking up space.

 

 

Gonna keep working towards next Halloween! =)

Wish I would have known about this album for the Halloween party this year. It would have been PEFECT. Oh, well, maybe next year!!! ------>  Espectrostatic

Scareface

Made this guy out of two cheap trick-or-treat pumpkins: one I already had and another that I picked up by the side of the road a year or so ago. Decided to paint and "carve" the one I found because it was dirty as filth and then cut up the second to fit inside the black one. Wish I would have found a decent use for this awesome guy on Halloween but he was obscured by a bunch of other stuff and I eventually just forgot about him. Oh, well. There's always next year!

My humble yard haunt

I'm a bit ashamed that I forgot about these and didn't post them sooner. Snapped a few photos of my own decorations before I tore everything down.

Maybe I can put together a more impressive haunt next year. Purely for my own satisfaction; we never get any trick-or-treaters where we live. That's one thing about Halloween that I've never had the pleasure of experiencing. =/

Some holidays never die...

And for me, that holiday is Halloween. I might have to wait almost a whole year for it to return, but that certainly isn't going to stop me from using my Halloween glass and coaster. =3

Huzzah for cheap finds (99 cent store for the glass and Target dollar bin for the coasters). Stay spooky, guys!!

The night has come and gone

...and it went over pretty well. I would have liked to have seen more around town but I checked out the main sights and walked the streets until my legs were sore. It was a great night and the streets were absolutely packed with trick-or-treaters. There were sushi rolls, princesses, super heroes, witches, vampires, demons and everything in between. I tried to get some decent pictures but turning on the flash ruined the ambiance (and blinded people) and it was hard to hold the camera steady while I took pictures with the flash off. Oh, well. I did the best I could!
